Leadership, Management, or Self-Leadership: Do You Know When To Play Each Role?

Thursday 08/08/2024 12:00 pm EDT

Each and every day, workers lead, management and lead-self and most never realize it nor know when to do each. So, what you end up with is a lot of confusion, irritation, and aggravation on the job. As organizations and departments flatten this pain and frustration will increase. For professionals working in complex and complicated project environments it is NOW critical that you understand when to use each and what skills are needed to do each correctly.

In this session, through interactive feedback and real time questions, we will discuss the concepts of leadership, management, and self-leadership in pragmatic real-world terms through the lens of project work in complicated organizational structures.  From there we will dig into the skills needed to lead and from there the skills needed to manage and from there how to practice self-leadership.  We will end with the critical conversation of TIMING.  TIMING is so important.  The biggest mistakes happen when someone leads when they should manage or manage when they should lead-self.  You can know all about leadership, management, and self-leadership yet if you don’t know when to use which, your knowledge is useless.
